The Zebra MC9400 / MC9450 is the next generation of Zebra’s ultra-rugged MC9000 Series mobile computer family. It is designed for the toughest industrial environments, including warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, cold storage, ports, yards and demanding retail backroom operations. The MC9400 / MC9450 continues the proven gun-style design of the MC9000 Series while adding a more powerful Android platform, Wi-Fi 6E, advanced scanning, improved wireless options, stronger security and modern Zebra Mobility DNA software capabilities. It is built for organisations that need maximum ruggedness, long lifecycle value and reliable operation in harsh daily use. The MC9400 is the WLAN-focused model with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The MC9450 adds WWAN 5G data connectivity, nano SIM and eSIM support, GPS / GNSS and private LTE / 5G support. For sites that only need indoor Wi-Fi coverage, the MC9400 is the right fit. For large outdoor facilities, yards, ports or distributed operations where public or private 5G is required, the MC9450 is the more appropriate model. The device is available in standard, freezer and non-incendive configurations. The standard model is suitable for demanding warehouse, manufacturing and retail environments. The freezer model adds features for cold storage, including a heated touch panel and scanner exit window, condensation resistance and freezer-rated battery options. The non-incendive model is designed for selected hazardous environments where flammable gases, dusts or fibres may be present; the supplied material notes that this option is available in North America. Data capture is one of the strongest advantages of the MC9400 / MC9450. The device supports Zebra’s SE58 1D / 2D Extended Range scan engine with IntelliFocus technology and green laser aimer. This scan engine can capture barcodes from in-hand distances to over 30.5 m, making it suitable for high warehouse racks, containers, yard assets and long-range industrial scanning. The green laser aimer is designed to be more visible than a typical red aimer, helping workers aim at distant labels. Ivanti All-Touch TE is pre-loaded and pre-licensed, allowing legacy green-screen applications to run without immediate backend changes, additional licences or user retraining. Zebra Mobility DNA adds software tools for deployment, management, security, data capture, communication and productivity. Mobility Extensions, StageNow, Zebra Zero Touch, Device Tracker and other tools can simplify lifecycle management and improve operational efficiency. Feature availability can vary by model, and some tools require licences or support contracts.
