The Zebra ZT6 Series is a premium industrial printer family designed for demanding 24/7 operations where durability, high print performance, reliability and long-term platform flexibility are essential. As the next generation of Zebra’s Xi Series legacy, the ZT610 and ZT620 are built for high-volume production, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, retail back-end and healthcare environments where printer downtime can directly affect operational performance. The ZT6 Series consists of two main models. The ZT610 is the 4-inch model, suitable for high-performance industrial label printing where compact width, high speed and optional high-resolution output are required. The ZT620 is the 6-inch model, designed for wider industrial labels, larger media and workflows that require a broader print area. Both models combine all-metal construction, thermal transfer and direct thermal printing, Link-OS, Zebra DNA software support and advanced connectivity options. The ZT6 Series is built for harsh industrial environments and continuous use. Heavy-gauge all-metal structural components are engineered for years of operation in demanding conditions. Built-in thermal management eliminates vents and cooling fans, helping block dust and debris from entering the printer. This design supports reliable printing in challenging production, warehouse and logistics environments. A major strength of the ZT6 Series is usability in daily industrial operation. The printers include a brightly lit 4.3-inch full-colour touch display with clear navigation and status visibility. The display can change colour in error states, allowing operators to recognize printer status from a distance. Guided media paths, colour-coded components, interior cabinet lighting and QR-code-based help resources make setup, troubleshooting and routine maintenance easier for operators. Media and ribbon loading are designed for reduced downtime. The side-loading supplies path simplifies media and ribbon replacement, while the quick-change printhead design uses an easy-in / easy-out socket without wires. Easy-adjust printhead pressure toggles include a scale and colour-coded pressure indicators, helping operators set up the printer more consistently across different media types. The ZT610 supports 203 dpi, optional 300 dpi and optional 600 dpi resolution. The 600 dpi option is available only for the ZT610 and is especially relevant for small, detailed labels. Zebra also offers a ZT610 600 dpi Micro Label Printer option, designed for very small labels down to 3 mm and described as delivering up to 50% more precise registration compared with a standard ZT610 600 dpi model. This Micro Label option supports tear and rewind media handling, but cutter and RFID are not supported for that configuration. The ZT620 supports 203 dpi and optional 300 dpi resolution. It is the wider model in the series, with a maximum print width of 168 mm. This makes it suitable for wider logistics labels, compliance labels, shipping / receiving labels, pallet-related labelling, distribution centre labels and other applications where 4-inch print width is not sufficient. Print speed is strong for industrial workflows. The ZT610 supports maximum print speed up to 356 mm per second, or 14 ips. The ZT620 supports maximum print speed up to 305 mm per second, or 12 ips. These speeds make the series suitable for high-volume operations where label output must keep pace with production, order fulfilment, receiving, shipping and cross-docking processes. The ZT610 offers a maximum print width of 104 mm, while the ZT620 offers a maximum print width of 168 mm. Maximum continuous print length for the ZT610 is 3810 mm at 203 dpi, 2540 mm at 300 dpi and 762 mm at 600 dpi. For the ZT620, maximum continuous print length is 2032 mm at both 203 dpi and 300 dpi. Media handling is designed for industrial flexibility. The ZT610 supports media widths from 20 mm to 114 mm, while the ZT610 Micro Label Printer supports media widths from 12 mm to 114 mm. The ZT620 supports media widths from 51 mm to 180 mm. Maximum media roll size is 203 mm outside diameter on a 76 mm core. Supported media thickness ranges from 0.058 mm to 0.25 mm. Media types include continuous, die-cut, notch and black-mark media. Ribbon support is also industrial-class. Standard ribbon length is 450 m, with a 25.4 mm core. The ZT610 supports ribbon widths from 20 mm to 110 mm, while the ZT620 supports ribbon widths from 51 mm to 170 mm. This makes the printers suitable for durable thermal transfer labelling applications using a wide range of ribbon and media combinations. Standard communications include USB 2.0, RS-232 serial, Gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth. Two USB host ports allow connection of peripheral devices, while two open communication slots make it possible to add internal connectivity options. Optional connectivity includes dual-band 802.11ax Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3, parallel, Ethernet and applicator interface. An IPv6 option is available as an external dongle attached to a parallel port. The ZT6 Series is built for future adaptability. Field-installable communication and media handling options allow businesses to extend capabilities as needs change. Media handling options include rewind, peel and liner rewind, cutter and catch tray. These options support production lines, warehouse stations and automated or semi-automated labelling workflows. RFID is available as an optional capability. The integrated RFID system supports tags compatible with UHF EPC Gen 2 V2.1, ISO/IEC 18000-63 and RAIN RFID protocols. RFID is available on both 4-inch and 6-inch models and is user-upgradable in the field. Adaptive Encoding Technology automatically selects optimum encode settings. RFID availability and configuration should be verified for the exact model and region. Software and management capability are central to the ZT6 Series. The printers run on Zebra Link-OS and are supported by Zebra DNA for Printers. Zebra Printer Profile Manager Enterprise allows administrators to monitor networked Link-OS printers from a browser-based interface. Zebra DNA MDM support enables integration into device management systems such as Omnissa Workspace ONE via Zebra’s AirWatch Connector and SOTI Connect. Zebra DNA Cloud Connect provides encrypted and authenticated connection to on-premise or cloud-based servers. The ZT6 Series supports ZPL and ZPL II, XML-enabled printing and optional ZBI 2.0. Font support includes resident ZPL II bitmap and scalable fonts, international scalable and smooth bitmap fonts, Unicode support and downloadable graphics, fonts, templates and formats. The ZT610 measures 505 mm × 268.2 mm × 395.68 mm and weighs 22.7 kg. The ZT620 measures 505 mm × 341.45 mm × 395.68 mm and weighs 26 kg. The construction includes a metal frame and bi-fold metal media cover with enlarged clear viewing window. Memory includes 1 GB RAM and 2 GB onboard linear flash memory, with user-available DRAM and flash memory listed for supported workflows. Operating temperature depends on print method. Thermal transfer operation is specified from 5°C to 40°C, while direct thermal operation is specified from 0°C to 40°C. Operating humidity is 20% to 85% non-condensing. Storage and transportation temperature is -30°C to 60°C, with storage humidity of 20% to 85% non-condensing. Electrical input is auto-detectable 90–265 VAC, 47–63 Hz, rated at 250 W, and the printers are ENERGY STAR certified. The ZT6 Series is suitable for manufacturing applications such as work-in-process, product identification, serial number labels, package labelling and receiving / put-away labelling. In transportation and logistics, it supports order picking, packing, shipping, receiving, cross docking and compliance labelling. In retail, it fits distribution centres and back-of-store operations. In healthcare, it can support laboratory labels, blood bank labelling, asset tracking and pharmacy labelling.
