The Zebra ZE511 RFID is a 4-inch RFID print engine designed for mission-critical automated labeling and print-and-apply systems. It is built for production lines, packaging systems and logistics operations where RFID labels must be printed, encoded and applied as part of a continuous automated workflow. The ZE511 RFID is not a desktop printer and not a standalone industrial label printer. It is a print engine intended for integration into automated labeling equipment. This makes it especially relevant for manufacturers, logistics providers and supply chain operations where uptime, integration flexibility, serviceability and reliable RFID encoding are critical. The ZE511 RFID supports both thermal transfer and direct thermal printing. With integrated Zebra RE40 RFID reader / encoder technology, it can print and encode 4-inch RFID labels for advanced tracking, product identification, logistics visibility and supply chain automation. RFID support includes tags compatible with UHF EPC Gen 2 V2, ISO / IEC 18000-63 and RAIN RFID protocols. The print engine can print and encode tags with a minimum pitch of 0.6 in / 16 mm. Adaptive Encoding Technology simplifies RFID setup and eliminates complex RFID placement guidelines, allowing users to encode smaller labels spaced closely together and adopt new inlays without pretesting. For traceability and process control, the ZE511 RFID includes RFID job-monitoring tools and RFID logs with timestamps. RFID ZPL commands provide compatibility with existing Zebra RFID printer environments, while support for industry-standard multi-vendor chip-based serialization helps the print engine fit into enterprise RFID workflows. The ZE511 RFID is designed for 4-inch RFID label applications. It supports a maximum print width of 4.09 in / 104 mm and media widths from 16 mm to 114 mm. This makes it suitable for product identification labels, carton labels, logistics labels, compliance labels, asset labels and other automated 4-inch RFID labeling workflows. Print performance is one of the ZE511 RFID’s strongest advantages. It supports 203 dpi resolution as standard, with optional 300 dpi and 600 dpi resolutions. Maximum print speed is 18 ips / 457 mm per second at 203 dpi in direct thermal mode, 14 ips / 356 mm per second at 203 dpi in thermal transfer mode, 14 ips / 356 mm per second at 300 dpi and 6 ips / 152 mm per second at 600 dpi. The optional 600 dpi resolution is available on the ZE511 model, making it especially useful for applications that require sharp small text, dense barcodes, compact graphics or precise label details. Maximum continuous print length is 150 in / 3801 mm at 203 dpi, 100 in / 2540 mm at 300 dpi and 50 in / 1270 mm at 600 dpi. The print engine is built for harsh, continuous operation. Its all-metal industrial construction and enclosed cabinet help resist debris and water ingress. The fanless design is especially useful in dusty production environments or areas where splashed water may be present. Serviceability is a major strength of the ZE511 RFID. Onboard analytics help predict and schedule maintenance to reduce unexpected downtime. The extended-life modular drive can be replaced quickly using only three screws, supporting offline servicing and helping keep automated workflows moving. Routine maintenance is also simplified. The improved socketed printhead design uses a quick-release tab for tool-free printhead replacement. The platen, pinch and peel rollers can be removed from the front of the print engine in minutes, without removing the unit from the print-and-apply system. Captured fasteners reduce the risk of lost hardware, and the hinged cage system provides easier access to internal components. The ZE511 RFID includes a 4.3-inch full-color touchscreen with an intuitive menu for quick operation and settings management. The screen can be rotated and remotely located up to two meters away, which helps when the print engine is integrated into machinery where direct access may be limited. Integration is supported by right-hand or left-hand orientation options, adjustable transmissive and fixed reflective media sensors, applicator interface, USB 2.0, RS-232 Serial, 10/100 Ethernet, Bluetooth 4.1 and dual USB Host. Optional communication options include parallel port, dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi with Bluetooth and additional Ethernet connectivity. The ZE511 RFID is powered by Zebra Link-OS and supported by Print DNA. These tools help simplify deployment, configuration, remote management, security and troubleshooting. Printer Profile Manager Enterprise enables centralized management, while PrintSecure helps protect networked print engines from unauthorized access and security risks. The ZE511 RFID measures 379 mm deep x 245 mm wide x 300 mm high and weighs 15.4 kg. It supports media thickness from 0.135 mm to 0.254 mm and media types including continuous, die-cut and black mark media. Ribbon support is designed for long production runs, with 600 m ribbon length and ribbon widths from 25.4 mm to 107 mm.
