Zebra Low-Profile RFID Antennas

Zebra Low-Profile RFID Antennas – 1/1

The Zebra Low-Profile RFID Antennas are designed for fixed UHF RFID systems where reliable RFID performance must be combined with discreet, space-saving installation. Based on the supplied source, this group includes models such as the AN610, AN620, AN650, AN660 and AN670. These antennas are not RFID readers. They are external RFID antennas that must be connected to a compatible Zebra fixed RFID reader or another suitable UHF RFID reader. Their role is to create controlled RFID read zones in places where a standard, larger antenna would be too visible, too bulky or not optimized for the application. The main advantage of Zebra’s low-profile antenna range is installation flexibility. The antennas can support use cases such as wall mounting, doorways, under-counter installation, within-shelving installation, above-counter RFID pad use, end-cap displays, jewelry counters, server racks, medical cabinets, luggage tracking, control points, access control and manufacturing lines. The Zebra AN610 is an ultra-low-profile RFID antenna designed for space-saving installations. It has a slim 12 mm profile and integrated mounting holes, allowing it to sit close to horizontal or vertical mounting surfaces. It is suitable for point of sale, receiving dock doors, under-counter and within-shelving applications, server racks and medical cabinets. The AN610 uses left-hand circular polarization and operates in the EU 865–868 MHz and US 902–928 MHz frequency ranges. It has 5.0 dBic gain, 1.4:1 VSWR, 18 dB front-to-back ratio, 80° 3 dB beam width in both planes and a maximum power rating of 6 watts. It measures 275 mm x 214 mm x 12 mm and weighs 0.6 kg. The antenna uses an N-Type Female connector with pigtail-side location and supports flush mounting. The Zebra AN620 is also an ultra-low-profile RFID antenna, but with higher gain and a larger form factor than the AN610. It is designed for similar space-saving and discreet installations, including wall mounting, doorways, under-counter use, shelves, point of sale, end-cap displays and limited-space retail areas. The AN620 uses left-hand circular polarization and operates in the EU 865–868 MHz and US 902–928 MHz frequency ranges. It has 7.0 dBic gain, 1.4:1 VSWR, 22 dB front-to-back ratio and a 3 dB beam width of 75° in the horizontal plane and 48° in the vertical plane. Maximum power is 6 watts. It measures 391 mm x 275 mm x 12 mm and weighs 1.0 kg. Like the AN610, it uses an N-Type Female connector and supports flush mounting. The Zebra AN650 is an ultra-low-profile circularly polarized UHF ground antenna. It is designed to lay flat on the ground and support moderate loads. At only 8 mm thick, it can be used in doorway-sized footprints where traditional side-mounted antennas are not suitable or not optimized. The AN650 is especially relevant for RFID deployments involving moving products, assets and people. Typical applications include conference attendee tracking, people tracking, retail presence-aware and loyalty-based marketing, race timing and event timing. It uses right-hand circular polarization, has 9 dBiC typical gain, IP65 sealing, anti-static protection and a fire-retardant ABS radome. It measures 915 mm x 305 mm x 8 mm and weighs 2.4 kg. The Zebra AN660 is a low-profile, high-gain RFID antenna designed for specific, predictable readings. It provides a directed spatial range and strong signal strength, making it suitable for control points and applications where the antenna must penetrate deeply into packaging to read tightly packed boxes and pallets. The AN660 uses right-hand circular polarization and operates in the EU 865–868 MHz and US 902–928 MHz frequency ranges. It has 10.5 dBiC gain, 1.4 typical VSWR, 25° xz-plane and 60° yz-plane 3 dB beam width, and a maximum power rating of 3 watts. It measures 604 mm x 304 mm x 8.6 mm and supports integrated flush mounting holes or VESA mounting. The Zebra AN670 is a low-profile near-field RFID antenna designed for tighter zone control. It is intended for applications where assets must be read only within a specific proximity. Its near-field radiation pattern and increased power density help support precise, localized RFID reads in compact spaces. The AN670 is relevant for retail, office, hospitality and healthcare environments. Typical applications include point of sale, under-counter installation, within-shelving use and medical cabinets. It measures 604 mm x 304 mm x 8.5 mm, uses a side SMA Female fly lead connector and supports integrated flush mounting holes or VESA mounting. It operates in the EU 865–867 MHz and US 902–928 MHz frequency ranges. The practical choice between these models depends on the required read zone. The AN610 is a compact ultra-low-profile option for general space-saving RFID installations. The AN620 offers higher gain and a more defined beam for larger or more demanding low-profile read zones. The AN650 is designed for ground-based tracking of people, assets or moving objects. The AN660 is best suited for high-gain, directional reading of packed goods or control points. The AN670 is best suited for tightly localized near-field reads. Overall, Zebra Low-Profile RFID Antennas are strong choices for fixed RFID systems where installation space, appearance, read-zone control and application-specific antenna behavior matter. Their strongest value lies in slim installation, fixed reader compatibility, discreet mounting, circular or near-field options, point-of-sale and shelving use, server rack and medical cabinet compatibility, ground antenna use cases and controlled RFID read-zone design.
