The Zebra FXR90 Ultra-Rugged Fixed RFID Reader family is designed for fixed RFID infrastructure in demanding transportation, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing and government environments. It is built for operations that need reliable RFID visibility in places where moisture, dust, wash-down processes, outdoor exposure, vibration, temperature extremes and hard-to-wire locations can make standard fixed readers difficult to deploy. The FXR90 is not a handheld RFID reader and not an RFID sled. It is a fixed reader platform for permanent or semi-permanent installation at dock doors, portals, production areas, outdoor yards, vehicle-related locations, material flow points and other RFID read zones. Its purpose is to provide automatic RFID data capture without requiring workers to manually scan every item. A key strength of the FXR90 is its ultra-rugged construction. The reader is sealed to dual IP65 and IP67 ratings, making it suitable for dusty, wet and harsh operating environments. It operates from -40°C to +65°C and supports storage from -40°C to +70°C. The source also lists vibration support to MIL-STD-810 Method 514, altitude support to MIL-STD-810 Method 500, solar radiation testing, salt fog testing and ESD protection of ±15 kV air discharge and ±8 kV direct / indirect discharge. CBRS support allows the reader to connect to a private network with broader wireless coverage and low latency, where applicable. The FXR90 is designed for simplified deployment and management. A mobile-friendly web interface allows installers to configure reader settings and monitor reader health. The interface is operating-system agnostic, which helps technicians work more flexibly from different devices. The reader also supports Zebra IoT Connector, which allows cloud-capable edge devices to share data through standard IoT protocols with no coding required. The FXR90 can be powered directly from 12 VDC to 24 VDC via flying leads, Zebra AC / DC IP67 sealed power supply, Zebra indoor AC / DC power supply, Zebra DC / DC IP67 sealed power supply, PoE+ injector or PoE injector. With integrated RFID antenna and flush mount brackets, it measures 13.2 x 10.0 x 2.9 in / 33.5 x 25.4 x 7.38 cm. Weight ranges from 2.50 kg for the reader without flush mount bracket to 3.07 kg for the integrated antenna model with flush mount bracket. Mounting options include flush mount and VESA mounting. The articulating VESA mount supports different pole sizes and can be mounted to larger poles using hose clamps, making the FXR90 flexible for portals, walls, poles, vehicles, outdoor structures and industrial mounting points.
