Zebra ZD600 Series Desktop Printers

The Zebra ZD600 Series is a premium desktop printer family designed for businesses that need compact size, strong performance, advanced security and long-term flexibility in everyday label, receipt, wristband and RFID printing workflows. The series includes the ZD611 and ZD621 models, giving users a choice between a compact 2-inch desktop printer and a more versatile 4-inch desktop printer. The ZD600 Series is suitable for retail, healthcare, hospitality, government, office, pharmacy, laboratory, document tracking, asset labelling, shelf labelling, price markdown, food safety labelling, ticketing, patient identification, prescription labelling and other applications where reliable desktop printing is required. The family is available in direct thermal, thermal transfer, linerless, healthcare and RFID configurations, depending on the selected model and workflow. The ZD611 is the compact model in the family. It is designed for narrower labels, receipts, wristbands and small-format desktop printing applications. The ZD621 is the wider 4-inch model, suitable for broader label formats and more general-purpose desktop labelling. Both models are positioned as premium desktop printers, offering more advanced features, security and expandability than entry-level desktop printer ranges. Print performance is strong for the desktop category. The ZD600 Series supports 203 dpi resolution as standard and 300 dpi as an optional resolution. Maximum print speed is 8 inches per second at 203 dpi and 6 inches per second at 300 dpi. The ZD611 offers a maximum print width of 56 mm at 203 dpi and 54 mm at 300 dpi. The ZD621 offers a maximum print width of 104 mm at 203 dpi and 108 mm at 300 dpi. The printers run on Zebra Link-OS and are backed by the Zebra DNA software suite. This gives businesses access to setup tools, emulation capabilities, remote management features and security-focused printer software. Zebra DNA helps simplify deployment, optimize printer performance and support printer management throughout the device lifecycle. Security is one of the important positioning points of the ZD600 Series. The supplied material highlights constantly evolving security designed to help protect sensitive data and reduce exposure to cyberattacks. The standard user interface includes five status icons and three buttons, allowing users to check printer status at a glance with minimal training. An optional 4.3-inch full-colour touch LCD is available, and it is standard on healthcare models and selected ZD611 RFID and thermal transfer models. This touchscreen option makes printer configuration and daily operation easier in more demanding or multi-user environments. Connectivity is flexible. Standard interfaces include Ethernet, USB 2.0 and USB Host. Serial is standard on the ZD621 and field-installable on the ZD611. The printers also support Zebra’s printer setup mobile app for Android and iOS through BLE, with BLE intended for use with the setup app only. Optional wireless connectivity includes dual-radio Wi-Fi 6 with Bluetooth 5.3, either factory-installed with MIMO or field-installable with SISO. Wi-Fi 5 with Bluetooth 4.2 is also available as a factory-installed or field-installable option. The ZD600 Series supports ZPL and EPL programming languages as standard, with support for ZPL II, EPL 2, XML, ZBI and PDF Direct listed in the printer specifications. This helps simplify integration into existing Zebra environments and supports migration from older desktop printers or mixed printer fleets. Media handling is designed for a wide range of desktop workflows. The printers support roll-fed or fan-fold media, die-cut or continuous media with or without black mark, tag stock, continuous receipt paper, wristbands and linerless media on linerless printer models only. Label length ranges from 6.35 mm to 991 mm. Media sensors include a full-width movable reflective / black mark sensor and a multi-position transmissive / gap sensor. The ZD611 supports media widths from 15 mm to 60 mm. The ZD621 direct thermal model supports media widths from 15 mm to 108 mm, while the ZD621 thermal transfer model supports media widths from 15 mm to 118 mm. Maximum media roll outside diameter is 127 mm. Standard core inner diameters are 12.7 mm and 25.4 mm, with optional adapters for 38.1 mm, 50.8 mm and 76.2 mm cores. Thermal transfer models support ribbon use. The ZD611 supports 74 m ribbon length with a 34 mm outside diameter and ribbon widths from 33 mm to 58 mm. The ZD621 supports 300 m and 74 m ribbon options, with ribbon widths from 33.8 mm to 109.2 mm. The 300 m ribbon option uses a 25.4 mm core, while the 74 m option uses a 12.7 mm core. The Zebra ZeroLiner linerless printing solution is available on dedicated ZD611 and ZD621 linerless models. It can increase label quantity per roll by up to 50%, reduce downtime from roll changes and eliminate backing liner waste. Linerless support should only be promoted for models specifically designed and tested for Zebra ZeroLiner labels. RFID configurations are available in the ZD600 Series. The RFID models support UHF EPC Gen 2 V2.1 and RAIN RFID protocols, using Adaptive Encoding Technology and Zebra’s RE40 RFID reader / encoder. This makes the series suitable for applications where RFID label encoding is needed in a compact desktop format. Healthcare models include features for clinical and laboratory environments, such as a white colour scheme, healthcare-compliant power supply, disinfectant-ready easy-to-clean plastics, sealed button interface and UV-resistant housing. Healthcare models are suitable for specimen collection, prescription labelling, patient ID wristbands, lab management, patient records and asset labels. The printers are built with OpenACCESS for easy media loading and dual-wall frame construction. A media dancer supports excellent print quality, excluding the ZD611 direct thermal model. The family is ENERGY STAR certified, and selected healthcare models include IEC60601-1 certified power supply. Optional media handling accessories include dispenser / peeler with label present sensor and cutter, available as factory-installed or field-installable options depending on configuration. Battery operation is also available, providing power to support a full shift of printing at maximum print speed and supporting all media handling options. A carrying case is available for the ZD621, but it does not fit when cutter or peeler is attached. Other accessories include the ZKDU keyboard display unit for standalone printing, mounting adapter bracket for installation in the same location as LP / TLP2824 Plus printers, media locking cabinet for selected ZD621 healthcare direct thermal models, and enclosed power supply for cord-free ZD621 installation. The ZD600 Series supports a broad range of barcode, font and graphics capabilities. Supported 1D barcodes include common retail, logistics and industrial symbologies, while 2D support includes PDF417, DataMatrix, MaxiCode, QR Code, MicroPDF and Aztec. Font support includes resident ZPL II and EPL2 fonts, scalable fonts, native OpenType font support and Unicode compliance. The printers are supplied with ZebraDesigner Essentials, a free label design tool, and support Zebra Certified Supplies for consistent print quality. Recommended Zebra OneCare service plans are available to support uptime, technical support, repair or replacement workflows depending on the selected service level and region.
