SATO TG3 Series 3-inch Retail Tag and Label Printer

The SATO TG3 Series is a specialised 3-inch tag and label printer designed for retail environments where product identification, price labeling and brand presentation must work together. With its 2-in-1 capability for both tags and labels, the TG3 is well suited to retailers, manufacturers, food industry operators and logistics workflows that need flexible printing on thicker tag media as well as standard label materials. In retail, a tag is often more than a simple identifier. It can carry brand names, logos, care instructions, product descriptions, country of origin, pricing, promotional messages and functional barcode data. It can handle label media thickness from 0.14 to 0.265 mm and tag media thickness from 0.157 to 0.33 mm, making it suitable for heavier materials often used in retail tag production. Side-hole, notch and jump-hole sensors, together with I-mark and label gap sensors, help the printer handle different tag structures and media formats reliably. The TG3 also supports useful finishing and workflow options. Optional accessories include a large stacker, label rewinder, RFID kit, ribbon core adaptor kit, keypad and smart keyboard. These options allow the printer to be adapted to batch tag production, label rewinding, operator-driven workflows or RFID-enabled tagging projects where required. Since RFID is listed as an optional kit, it should be specified carefully during configuration rather than assumed as standard. Integration is handled through optional plug-in interfaces, including IEEE1284, Centronics parallel, RS232C, high-speed RS232C, USB, LAN and wireless LAN 802.11b/g. Standard external I/O and a serial port for keypad use are also listed. Support for SBPL, the SATO Barcode Printer Language, makes the TG3 suitable for integration into SATO-based retail, manufacturing and logistics labeling systems. For barcode-based product identification and traceability, the TG3 supports a range of 1D and 2D symbologies, including Code 128, GS1-128, GS1 DataBar, PDF417, MaxiCode, QR Code and GS1 Data Matrix. This allows businesses to combine product-facing information with machine-readable identification on the same printed tag or label.
