SATO CG4 Series 4-inch Desktop Label Printer

The SATO CG4 Series is a compact 4-inch desktop label printer family designed for professional everyday labeling in retail, logistics, manufacturing, office and light industrial environments. Available in 203 dpi and 305 dpi versions, the CG4 Series provides a practical balance between label width, print quality, compact dimensions and integration flexibility for organisations that need more capacity than a 2-inch desktop printer can provide without moving to a larger industrial platform. With a maximum print width of 105 mm, the CG4 Series is suitable for standard 4-inch labels used for product identification, shipping labels, carton labels, inventory labels, shelf labels, work-in-progress labels and general traceability tasks. The CG408 provides 203 dpi resolution for typical barcode and text printing, while the CG412 offers 305 dpi resolution for applications involving smaller text, denser barcode content or more detailed label layouts. The printers support direct thermal and thermal transfer operation, enabling the right print method to be selected for the application. Direct thermal printing is well suited to short-life labels such as dispatch, shipping or temporary process labels, while thermal transfer printing is appropriate where more durable output is required. The CG4 Series handles roll and fan-fold die-cut labels, continuous stock, plain paper face stock, synthetic media and linerless labels. Depending on the selected configuration, the printer can be used in continuous, tear-off, cutter or dispenser workflows, allowing it to support both batch printing and label-by-label application processes. The compact footprint makes the CG4 Series easy to install where space is limited. It can be placed at a packing bench, on a retail counter, at a production workstation or next to a receiving station without requiring the dedicated space normally associated with an industrial label printer. Despite its compact size, it supports label rolls up to 128 mm in outside diameter and thermal transfer ribbons up to 100 m in length, supporting practical day-to-day operation. Connectivity is available in several configurations, including USB with RS-232C, USB with 10/100 BaseT LAN, or USB with IEEE1284. The RS-232C interface also enables connection to a PC or SATO Keypad. Optional accessories include a cutter, dispenser, real-time clock, keypad, unwinder, NiceLabel, Smart Keyboard and external Bluetooth connectivity through the serial port. This allows the printer to be configured for local workstation use, networked label printing or more independent operator-driven workflows. The SATO CG4 Series supports SBPL, the SATO Barcode Printer Language, and includes a broad range of 1D and 2D barcode symbologies. Supported formats include Code 128, GS1-128, GS1 DataBar, PDF417, QR Code, MaxiCode and GS1 DataMatrix. This provides a solid basis for product labeling, inventory control, shipping processes and compact traceability applications.
