For applications requiring greater precision, the scanner can switch to a button-activated single-line scanning mode operating at 56 scan lines per second, helping operators select individual barcodes accurately. Its compact and lightweight construction makes the OrbitCG 7180 ideal for retail counters where space is limited, including convenience stores, pharmacies, specialty retail, kiosks, and ticketing applications. The award-winning housing design also supports occasional handheld operation, allowing users to scan larger or bulky items with ease. An integrated RF EAS antenna is available on the OrbitCG 7180, enabling simultaneous barcode scanning and electronic article surveillance tag deactivation, helping improve checkout efficiency and reduce transaction times. The OrbitCG 7180 supports standard 1D and GS1 DataBar barcode symbologies and integrates easily into existing POS infrastructures through USB, RS-232, Keyboard Wedge, and IBM RS485 interfaces.
