Honeywell Eclipse 5145 Single-Line Laser Scanner
The Honeywell Eclipse 5145 is a compact handheld single-line laser barcode scanner designed for retail, POS, document processing, inventory management, and menu scanning applications where reliable 1D barcode reading and simple operation are essential. The scanner combines an ergonomic lightweight design with proven laser scanning technology, offering a cost-effective alternative to traditional CCD scanners while providing a wider scan field and longer reading distance. One of the key features of the Honeywell Eclipse 5145 is Honeywell’s patented CodeGate® technology. This allows the user to accurately target the desired barcode before transmitting the data with a single button press. This solution significantly improves scanning precision in menu scanning, document handling, and environments where multiple barcodes are positioned close together. The integrated CodeSense® technology automatically activates the scanner when a barcode is detected. In standby mode, the device projects a pulsing laser line, which changes to continuous illumination once a barcode enters the reading field, helping operators work faster while reducing unnecessary power consumption. The Honeywell Eclipse 5145 uses a high-performance single-line laser engine capable of reading standard 1D and GS1 DataBar symbologies quickly and accurately. The scan line becomes wider as the reading distance increases, making barcode targeting easier and improving usability across different scanning distances. The scanner supports multiple communication interfaces, including USB, RS-232, Keyboard Wedge, and IBM RS485 connectivity, enabling seamless integration into various POS systems and enterprise environments. Compatibility with OPOS and JPOS systems also simplifies software integration into existing infrastructures. The replaceable Powerlink cable system allows quick cable replacement without changing the entire scanner, reducing maintenance costs and minimizing downtime. In addition, Flash ROM support enables firmware updates through Honeywell MetroSet2 software, helping protect long-term investment and maintain compatibility with evolving systems.
