The Datalogic TD1100 Series is a cost-effective contact linear imager family designed for close-range 1D barcode reading. It is intended for customers who need reliable contact barcode scanning without sacrificing quality and everyday performance. The TD1100 is not a 2D scanner and not a long-range scanner. Its main role is close-contact reading of standard 1D barcodes in low-throughput applications. It is especially suitable for documents, bills, books, service counters and other workflows where the barcode is usually presented directly to the reader. A key strength of the TD1100 Series is its reading performance on linear barcodes, including damaged or poorly printed codes. This makes it useful in public administration, service points, banking, finance, utilities and document-processing environments where barcode quality may vary. The TD1100 Series is available with two reading window sizes. The 65 version has a 6.5 cm / 2.6 in reading window, while the 90 version has a 9.0 cm / 3.5 in reading window. The wider 90 version is especially useful for wider barcodes on books, documents, utility bills and paper-based forms. The scanner automatically discriminates all standard 1D linear codes, including GS1 DataBar linear codes. It also supports selected stacked GS1 DataBar codes, including GS1 DataBar Expanded Stacked, GS1 DataBar Stacked and GS1 DataBar Stacked Omnidirectional. The TD1100 is available in Lite and Pro versions. TD1100 65 / 90 Lite models provide USB or RS-232 / Keyboard Wedge interface options. TD1100 65 / 90 Pro models offer a complete multi-interface solution with RS-232, USB, Keyboard Wedge and Wand Emulation. An innovative read-thru holder provides hands-free reading capability for documents or small items. This is useful when the scanner is used on a desk or service counter and the operator needs to present documents directly to the reader. The TD1100 is compact and lightweight. The 65 Pro and Lite models measure 16.0 x 8.4 x 5.8 cm and weigh 130 g. The 90 Pro and Lite models measure 17.0 x 10.4 x 6.7 cm and weigh 153 g. The scanner is available in black, with other colors and custom logo options available for minimum quantity purchases. The scanner is designed for everyday durability in light-duty environments. It withstands repeated drops from 1.5 m / 5.0 ft onto concrete and provides 16 kV ESD air discharge protection. The sealing rating is IP30, which is suitable for controlled indoor environments but not for dusty or wet industrial use. The TD1100 has low power consumption. Typical operating current is under 100 mA at 5 VDC, while standby / idle current is 20 mA at 5 VDC. Input voltage is 5 VDC +/- 0.5 V. Reading performance is optimized for contact and close-range 1D use. The scanner uses 640 nm LED illumination, supports 25% minimum print contrast and offers maximum resolution of 4 mil. Reading indicators include an adjustable-tone beeper and Good Read LED. Typical reading ranges include Code 39 7.5 mils from 0 to 8.1 cm, Code 39 10 mils from 0 to 12.0 cm and EAN13 13 mils from 0 to 15.0 cm. Actual reading performance depends on symbol length, print quality, contrast, ambient light and scan angle. The TD1100 Series is suitable for non-food specialty retail stores, service points, public administration, libraries, schools, government agencies, banks, insurance offices, utilities and document / billing environments. The source also positions it for 1D coupons on mobile phones, but its primary strength remains close-contact 1D barcode reading. Configuration and deployment are supported by Datalogic Aladdin, available at no charge. OPOS and JavaPOS utilities are also available, and Remote Host Download can help lower service costs and improve operations. The standard factory warranty is 5 years.
