The Datalogic QuickScan Lite QW2100 is an entry-level handheld linear imager designed for everyday 1D barcode reading applications. It is a compact, lightweight and cost-effective scanner for retail, light manufacturing, document and bill processing, banking and financial environments. The QW2100 is focused on 1D barcode reading. It is not a 2D area imager. Its main role is to provide reliable scanning of common 1D barcodes, especially long and truncated codes that are often used on utility bills, documents and electronic component labels. A key strength of the QuickScan Lite QW2100 is its wide scan angle and extended scanning line. The thinner and brighter laser-like scan line helps users capture longer and wider barcodes more easily, without needing to increase the scanning distance. This makes the scanner especially practical for applications where barcode labels are physically long or printed across wide surfaces. The QW2100 provides snappy reading performance on most 1D barcodes. It auto-discriminates standard 1D linear codes, including GS1 DataBar linear codes. It also supports China Post postal code and selected stacked codes such as EAN / JAN Composites, GS1 DataBar Composites, GS1 DataBar Expanded Stacked, GS1 DataBar Stacked and GS1 DataBar Stacked Omnidirectional. Datalogic Green Spot technology provides clear good-read feedback directly on the code. Together with an adjustable-tone beeper, Good Read LED and Good Transmission indication, this gives operators reliable confirmation during daily scanning tasks. The scanner is small and ergonomic, making it comfortable to use throughout the workday. It measures 17.0 x 6.5 x 7.0 cm and weighs only 119 g. This lightweight design is useful in retail counters, office-style processing areas and document-handling workflows where users scan frequently but do not need an industrial rugged device. The QW2100 is available with two interface options. The QW2120-BK supports USB, while the QW2170-BK supports RS-232 / Keyboard Wedge connectivity. This gives businesses a simple choice between USB-based deployment and legacy POS / terminal integration. A specially designed stand is available for the QW2100. The stand is lightweight, collapsible and can also be used as a holder. Its tiltable head allows different angle settings, supporting hands-free reading when needed. The scanner is built with over-molded rubber to protect the imager when dropped. It withstands repeated drops from 1.5 m / 5.0 ft onto concrete and has an IP42 sealing rating. This is suitable for everyday retail, office and light manufacturing use, though it is not intended for harsh industrial environments. The QW2100 supports ambient light up to 120,000 lux, 16 kV ESD air discharge protection and 5–95% non-condensing humidity. Operating temperature is 0 to 50°C, while storage and transport temperature is -40 to 70°C. Reading performance is appropriate for entry-level 1D applications. The scanner uses a red LED light source at 610–650 nm, supports up to 400 reads per second, and offers 4 mil maximum resolution for 1D codes. Minimum print contrast is 25%, and the field of view is 56° +/- 2°. Typical reading ranges include 5 mil codes from 2.5 to 15.0 cm, 7.5 mil codes from 0 to 24.0 cm, 10 mil codes from 0 to 35.0 cm, 13 mil codes from 0 to 40.0 cm and 20 mil codes from 0 to 60.0 cm. Actual reading distance depends on symbol length, print quality, contrast, ambient light and scan angle. The QuickScan Lite QW2100 uses the same cables and power supplies as current QuickScan products, helping simplify accessory management. It is also available in bulk packaging with 10 scanners per box, and USB Certified Kits are available. Configuration and deployment are supported by Datalogic Aladdin, available at no charge. OPOS and JavaPOS utilities are also available. Remote Host Download is available on RM models only, helping lower service costs and improve operations. The standard factory warranty is 3 years.
