The Magellan 900i is designed for real-world counter environments. It supports ambient light from 0 to 86,100 lux, 25 kV ESD air discharge protection, 5–95% non-condensing humidity and IP52 sealing. It withstands repeated drops from 1.2 m / 4.0 ft onto concrete. Operating temperature is 0 to 40°C / 32 to 104°F, while storage and transport temperature is -40 to 70°C / -40 to 158°F. Available interfaces include USB Keyboard, USB COM, OEM / IBM USB and RS-232. The scanner is compatible with Checkpoint Systems EAS and Interlock. It can be monitored and updated through Remote Management, Aladdin or programming guides. OPOS and JavaPOS utilities are available, and Remote Host Download can help lower service costs and improve operations.
