The Datalogic DS5100 is a flexible and powerful industrial laser barcode scanner designed for manufacturing plants, automated warehouses, intralogistics systems, end-of-line processes and industrial traceability applications. It provides higher reading performance and broader configuration flexibility than compact close-range models, making it suitable for demanding 1D barcode reading tasks along the manufacturing and logistics chain. The DS5100 is not a handheld scanner and not a mobile computer. It is a fixed-mount industrial 1D laser scanner for machine-mounted, conveyor-based, pallet, tote, packaging and production-line identification points. It should not be positioned as a 2D imager for QR Code, Data Matrix, DPM or image-based inspection applications. The scanner is designed for industries such as automotive, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and general manufacturing. Typical applications include shop floor identification, work-in-progress control, parts traceability, secondary package control, end-of-line reading, palletizing, automated warehouse operations, tote tray identification, automatic picking process control, intralogistics, entry-level sorting, shipping processes, pallet reading, cold storage and outdoor applications with suitable subzero models. The DS5100 offers a flexible product portfolio with Medium Range and Long Range models, as well as Linear, Oscillating Mirror and Deflection Mirror scan pattern options. This allows the same scanner family to be adapted to different barcode positions, conveyor layouts, reading distances and industrial installation constraints. Reading distance depends on model configuration. Medium Range models cover 200 to 1000 mm, while Long Range models cover 300 to 1400 mm. The housing is aluminum and rated IP65. Operating temperature is 0°C to +50°C on standard models, while subzero versions are designed for operation down to -35°C.
