The Datalogic DS2400N is a compact fixed-mount industrial laser barcode scanner designed for automatic warehousing, factory automation, automatic picking systems, process control, packaging and print & apply applications. It provides reliable close- to mid-range 1D barcode reading with flexible connectivity and compact installation options. The DS2400N is not a handheld scanner and not a mobile computer. It is an industrial fixed-mount reader for automated identification points, conveyors, machines, packaging lines and print & apply systems where stable barcode reading and industrial network integration are required. As a laser barcode scanner, the DS2400N is designed for 1D / linear barcode reading. Supported codes include Interleaved 2 of 5, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, EAN / UPC, EAN128, Codabar, Pharmacode, Plessey and ISBT128. It should not be positioned as a 2D reader for QR Code, Data Matrix or DPM applications. The DS2400N offers a reading distance from 70 to 600 mm. This makes it suitable for applications where the barcode is not always extremely close to the scanner, but still passes through a controlled reading zone. Compared with the DS2100N, the DS2400N is the stronger option when the application requires a longer reading distance. A key advantage of the DS2400N is Datalogic’s ACR / Advanced Code Reconstruction technology. Multilabel reading allows up to 10 codes in the same reading phase, depending on application conditions. Connectivity is one of the strongest parts of the DS2400N family. The scanner is available in model versions with serial communication, ID-NET, Ethernet TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP and PROFINET options. This allows it to be integrated into traditional machine control systems as well as modern industrial Ethernet networks. The DS2400N-X2XX versions are suitable for applications where serial communication, ID-NET RS485 multidrop networking or external fieldbus / Ethernet connection through CBX or QLM devices is required. Interfaces include RS232 / RS422 / RS485 main port, RS232 auxiliary port and ID-NET. The DS2400N-X3XX versions add embedded EtherNet/IP and Ethernet TCP/IP communication. These models are useful where direct Ethernet-based communication is required for factory automation or warehouse automation systems. The DS2400N-X4XX versions are designed for PROFINET environments. They include embedded PROFINET with an internal switch and two PROFINET ports. This supports line topology and can help simplify installation in industrial automation networks. With on-board Ethernet ports and switch capability, the DS2400N can be networked into PROFINET line or ring topologies for system redundancy, depending on the network architecture.
