Brother P-touch 900 Series

The Brother P-touch 900 Series is a compact desktop industrial labelling printer family designed for on-demand production of durable laminated labels. It is built for demanding work environments where labels need to remain legible and reliable on cables, panels, racks, equipment, assets, tools, parts, shelves and other operational surfaces. The series includes the PT-P900C, PT-P900WC and PT-P950NW. Instead of being handheld label makers, these are space-saving desktop label printers that provide professional label output in a compact footprint. They are suitable for users who need higher-quality laminated labels than a basic office labeller can provide, but do not require a roll-label desktop or industrial barcode printer. The P-touch 900 Series uses laminated thermal transfer print technology and prints at 360 × 360 dpi. This high resolution helps produce crisp text, barcodes, QR codes, graphics, logos and industrial identification labels. The printers support media widths from 3.5 mm to 36 mm, making them suitable for both narrow identification labels and wider industrial labels. The series is designed for durable label output. It supports HGe and TZe tapes, HSe heat shrink tube, FLe die-cut labels and TZeSL self-laminating label cartridges. These media options allow the same printer family to support cable labels, wire wraps, heat shrink tube labels, asset labels, patch panel labels, equipment labels, rack labels, barcode labels and other industrial identification needs. The supplied material positions the labels as durable laminated labels that can withstand sunlight, UV exposure, extreme temperatures and other harsh environments, depending on the selected tape type and application. This makes the series particularly relevant for low-voltage, electrical, MRO, manufacturing and warehouse workflows where label readability matters over time. A key productivity feature is the automatic dual blade cutter with full cut and easy-peel strip cutting. This helps reduce manual cutting, speeds up repeated label creation and makes peel-and-apply workflows easier. It is especially useful for serialized labels, cable labels, patch panel labels and larger batches of labels that need to be applied cleanly and efficiently. The P-touch 900 Series is also built around strong software support. Users can design custom labels with Brother P-touch Editor, including text, graphics, barcodes, QR codes, serialized data and database-driven content. The included applications listed in the supplied material include P-touch Editor, Cable Label Tool, Transfer Manager, Printer Setting Tool and BRAdmin Professional for Windows, plus P-touch Editor and Printer Setting Tool for Mac. For wireless-capable models, the Pro Label Tool mobile app is also listed for iOS and Android. The series supports a wide set of barcode formats. Linear barcode support includes Code39, Code128, ITF, UPC-A/E, EAN-8/13, GS1-128, GS1 DataBar, Codabar and Postnet. 2D barcode support includes PDF417, QR Code, Data Matrix, Maxicode and Aztec Code. This makes the series useful not only for text-based identification but also for structured asset, maintenance, warehouse and equipment labelling. The P-touch 900 Series can store up to 99 downloaded templates, databases and images, with up to 7 MB of download memory. This is useful for standardised label workflows where common templates need to be reused across sites, workstations or teams. Connectivity depends on the model. The PT-P900C provides USB 2.0 and RS232C Serial connectivity. The PT-P900WC adds Wi-Fi connectivity for wireless printing, including infrastructure and wireless direct modes. The PT-P950NW is the most network-capable model in the series, adding Ethernet 10BASE-T / 100BASE-TX and broader network deployment options, with optional Bluetooth also listed in the supplied material. Network-capable models support common IPv4 and IPv6 protocols, including DHCP, DNS-related functions, LPR/LPD, raw port / Port 9100, FTP server, SNMP and other standard network printing protocols. Wireless security support includes WEP, WPA/WPA2-PSK and enterprise authentication methods, depending on model. The printers are compact and easy to place on a desk, bench, workstation or technical area. Dimensions are 118 mm × 146 mm × 192 mm, and weight is 1480 g without tape cassette, battery base and batteries. Power is supplied through the AD9100ESA AC adapter, and optional battery operation is available through a lithium-ion battery and battery base depending on configuration. The series is suited to several industrial application areas. In low-voltage and electrical work, it can be used for wire and cable wraps, wire and cable flag labels, patch panel labelling, fibre cable labels, electrical boxes, panels, equipment, cabinets, server racks, sequentially numbered connections and active or passive electronics labels. For MRO teams, the P-touch 900 Series is suitable for asset management labels, tools and parts identification, barcode labels, calibration labels, maintenance labels and lockout / tagout labels. In manufacturing and warehouse environments, it can support part labels, barcode labels, serial number labels, part number labels, asset labels, bin labels, shelf labels, component labels and rack labels. The printers are backed by a 2-year limited warranty according to the supplied material, including the printhead and cutter. The source also highlights Brother’s support for the life of the product. ENERGY STAR qualification is listed for models except the PT-P900C. Overall, the Brother P-touch 900 Series is a strong desktop industrial laminated labelling solution for organisations that need durable, professional labels up to 36 mm wide. Its strongest value lies in 360 dpi print quality, durable tape compatibility, automatic dual blade cutting, compact desktop design, barcode and QR code support, P-touch Editor software, mobile app support on wireless models and flexible connectivity from USB and serial to Wi-Fi and Ethernet.
